Fairfield College recently hosted its first Employer Engagement Day. The morning was filled with exciting activities and talks from a variety of visitors, including Babcock, the Army, NatWest, NHS, Barnardo’s, the Wiltshire Employment Support Team, Community Connecting, and the Wiltshire Museum.

Students had the opportunity to participate in first aid taster sessions, chocolate welding, blacksmithing, and learn about money management. They also learned about how they can be supported with travel training and work.

The afternoon workshop, “What Employers Are Looking For,” was funded by The Careers & Enterprise Company via Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub. Students learned about the skills and qualities that employers are looking for in potential employees.

The Employer Engagement Day was a great success. Students had the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers and to network with potential employers. We are very grateful to all of the visitors who made the day such a success!
