Our PIGS

We’ve got two breeds of pig at Fairfield Farm College. The first is a Gloucestershire Old Spots Pig called Flo. Flo can usually be found sunbathing in the good weather, or snaffling around for something tasty!

BABY ANIMALS

Did you know that baby Pigs are called Piglets!

Our second breed of pig is a British Saddleback Pig called Sasha. She is the loudest of the two pigs we’ve got, and can usually be heard long before she is seen!

ANIMAL GROUPS

Did you know that a group of Pigs are called a Drift or Drove!

WHAT DO WE EAT?

Pigs will eat anything they come across; grass, nuts, berries, carrion, roots, tubers, refuse, insects, small insects; using their powerful noses, not just for sniffing and locating but also for rooting up the ground in their search for food.
